Can you use video footage on VHS?
answer - NO
But, there are many services available that will convert your VHS footage onto DVD or digital formats, and, it is your responsibility to either secure the rights to use the material or to investigate the legal implications of FAIR USE.
Can you use video footage from YOU TUBE or VIMEO or another web-site?
answer - SOMETIMES, but very rarely.
The rights to use these materials are held by the publishers, and are protected by the web-sites where they are posted. Some publishers make the content available for use and have chosen internet settings that enable the use of the material, and others do not.
I am willing to investigate whether or not the publisher has chosen to make the content available. If the content settings are not enabling the use of the material then it is often not worth the effort to attempt to use it. I can provide some investigation and consultation about the use of the material for an additional fee and no guarantee that the material will be usable.
Do you post my demo to IMDB and CASTING WORKBOOK?
answer - NO
But, I will deliver a hard copy of your demo reel to you on a USB Flash drive device. The device will have a minimum of 3 copies of your demo. Each copy has different compression setting so that you will have the best possible settings for using your demo on those web-sites.
Do you post my demo on YOU TUBE?
answer - YES and NO
I will be posting several versions of your demo reel on YOU TUBE as a way of communicating with you and with other potential clients. The YOU TUBE settings of the demos are PRIVATE and are not available to the public.
However, if you are comfortable with having a version available to the public I will take that into consideration when quoting a price as I like to have some demos publicly available. I highly recommend having one version available to the public as it is a way to reach out and find an audience. I do not include any contact information with any public demo.
